Looking to bring the power and joy of West African drumming to your group or event?

I offer engaging, high-quality workshops for all kinds of settings — from community groups and school classes to university seminars, team-building days and djembe ensembles. Whether you're after a one-off session, a weekend intensive, or an ongoing collaboration, I bring depth, clarity, and a big dose of rhythmic energy.

Based in North London, I’m happy to travel, bring drums, and adapt my sessions to suit any group — regardless of age, experience or musical background. My teaching is rooted in tradition, shaped by decades of experience, and tailored to be accessible and meaningful. Find out more about my approach →

Workshops for All Settings

  • Whether you're part of a local djembe group, host community sessions, or want to organise a weekend workshop, I can bring fresh material, coaching, and inspiration. I work with groups of all levels and love helping regular players deepen their understanding, groove and ensemble skills. I can also help set up public workshops in your area.

  • My educational work spans from primary schools to university level — including special education. I have extensive experience leading one-off and ongoing whole-class drumming workshops, running djembe clubs and ensembles, and working with young people of all ages and abilities. I’ve taught PGCE Music cohorts at Cambridge University, tutored Performance students at SOAS and Kingston University, and delivered lectures on BA and MA modules in Music and Music Education.

Drumming workshops offer a powerful, embodied way to explore rhythm, creativity, listening and group cohesion. In schools, they provide an energetic and inclusive entry point to music-making — especially valuable for pupils who might not engage with more traditional approaches. At university level, they can deepen understanding of oral/aural pedagogy, rhythm systems, West African cultural knowledge and ensemble skills.

Workshops can be one-off sessions or part of a longer project, with the option to build towards performances or connect into wider learning themes and events. Whether you’re after creative enrichment, curriculum links, or music CPD, I’ll tailor the session to suit your learners.
